World News

World news is the jargon term in news media for international news, a subfield of journalism. It refers to foreign news sent by reporters working abroad who have a permanent contract with a media source, or – in the case of wire services, originally via telegraph and now using electronic means such as the Internet – information supplied in bulk by reporters working for one or more major news agencies. Almost all of the articles published by major news agencies are world news, although war or peace negotiations can be deemed to be national in nature for the media of belligerent countries. Similarly, conferences of multilateral organizations may be considered world news for the media of member nations.
