Late-Breaking Abstracts

If you have an abstract that could not be completed by the regular abstract submission deadline, late-breaking is an opportunity to present your research at CHI 2025. This submission category is for a small number of clinical or laboratory-based studies that would otherwise be excluded due to the timing of their completion. Authors must provide a justification on the abstract submission form explaining why their work should be considered late-breaking.

This is a highly competitive submission process; only the most exceptional abstracts will be accepted for presentation. If selected, you will be presented your work in an oral abstract session, and your paper may also be included in the conference proceedings (HCII 2025 – LNCS).

Your title should clearly indicate the main focus of your research and avoid any jargon or abbreviations. Title characters count towards the limit, so keep it short and clear.

Ensure your abstract is complete, including any necessary tables and labels. Be sure to include all authors and check that all conflict of interest disclosures are correct before submission. Your abstract must not have been previously published, or submitted to any other scientific venue for consideration. Similarly, your work should not have been reported in the general media or other public outlets prior to the presenting date at SfN events (including preprint archives).

Please note that only one author of a paper or poster can be listed as a presenter for each proposal. For this reason, it is essential that co-authors are aware that they will be listed as presenting on your abstract. Accepted presenters must register and attend the conference in order to be credited with a contribution. Travel/hotel accommodations and fees are the responsibility of the Presenting Author.
